Tekne Cultural Association

With an activity spanning half a century and therefore backed by a broad and consolidated network of relations with internationally renowned artists, Gilberto Algranti has organised dozens of exhibitions focusing above all on Italian art. These events have roused great interest and contributed to widen the knowledge for and revaluation of unacknowledged periods of Italian art, stimulating big museums and cultural organisations, especially in the United States, the desire, to purchase masterpieces of Italian paintings. The aim of Gilberto Algranti with the establishment of Tekne Cultural Association was to institutionalise the long-standing professional commitment by creating an organism whose specific task is to conceive and produce large exhibitions in Italy and around the world. To implement its program Tekne can rely on a network of qualified art historians as well as a team of talented professional art organisers.

Tekne is in a position to conceive scientific projects relating to important exhibitions by entrusting the event to a curator and/or committee that can ensure the highest standards. Tekne negotiates national and international loans with private and public institutions as well as individual collectors; Tekne supervises the setting up of exhibitions right from the conceptual stage, selecting the packers, movers and insurers that offer the best in terms of service and efficiency. It arranges the exhibition according to the demands of the project by highlighting the works on display so as to facilitate comprehension for visitors. The catalogues are designed and produced in cooperation with Skira editore, one of Italy’s top art publishers. Tekne coordinates the essays to be published as well as the philological information of the works with eminent scholars who can ensure the highest scientific standards. It gathers the required materials (photos, bibliography, provenience, etc.) and coordinates the layout of the catalogue. An efficient press office handles the promotional aspect of the event by fostering relations with the media and the press. By request, Tekne may also plan fringe events and guided tours.
